The ancient, brick-vaulted "cantina" was dug into the hillside so it is cool in the summer and warm in winter. It is equipped as an “overflow” bedroom with two, luxurious, convertible sofas and a bath with shower.

Its huge capped fireplace faces a banquet area with an antique monks’ table, that can seat 12 guests. Wall sconces light the curved walls and ceiling of ancient brick. Handmade terracotta tiles are laid in traditional patterns. A side door leads into the bath and a utility room equipped with washer and dryer.
